Description

White food grade rubber is available in three elastomer types – Natural (NR), Neoprene (CR) and Nitrile (NBR).

These food grade rubber elastomers are suitable for use with food and drink stuffs and are in accordance with FDA [Food and Drug Administration – Department of Health and Human Services] part 177 – Indirect food additives section 177.2600 – rubber articles for repeated usage.

Natural – Recommended for use in low temperature applications within the food industry.

Polymer Type: NR/SBR
Hardness: 60 Shore A
Specific Gravity: 1.5 +/-0.05
Tensile Strength: 6.5 Mpa
Elongation at break: 500%
Temperature Resistance: -30/+70ºC (Int: 90 ºC)

Nitrile – Recommended for use in low temperature applications within the food industry.

Polymer Type: SBR/NBR
Hardness: 60 Shore A
Specific Gravity: 1.5 +/-0.05
Tensile Strength: 8 Mpa
Elongation at break: 350%
Temperature Resistance: -25/+70ºC (Int: 90 ºC)

Neoprene – Recommended for higher temperature applications involving fats and oil, particularly within the food industry.

Hardness: 60 Shore A
Specific Gravity: 1.5 +/-0.05
Tensile Strength: 8.5 Mpa
Elongation at break: 650%
Temperature Resistance: -25/+90ºC (Int: 100 ºC)
